I managed to migrate my blog to WordPress after more than 5 years. I had a bad feeling about the old MT and perhaps that was the reason I was not posting too often.

I redirected the old feed URLs to the new one, but I suggest you update your links and let me know if you are having difficulties accessing content on this website.

New theme

Yes, Finally I did it. I was quite unhappy with the old theme, and I was also not using the cutting edge features such as Tags, Widgets, etc.

So here you are: The new theme. I will definitely update it in a few days to make it look better.

Some of my readers gave up posting comments because my blog doesn’t accept comments without email addresses.

I am always brave enough to post my real name and address when I am posting a comment. So I expect my readers to do so. And I would like to thank my readers, especially those who post comments and give me their invaluable feedback.

Anyhow, you can use a fake address in case you don’t want to post your real address.

UNIX and Zen

I haven’t been surfing web and digging the new for pas couple of days.
I spend half one third of my day to teach, another third to study zen and the remaining part to sleep.

Just one important note for all those vi fanatics. I was working with one of those original VIs which does not have all fancy vim additions. I suggest you giving the original VI a try. Chances are that you’ll hate it once you screw up your first file. You actually love VIM, not VI.

Hobbies

I believe everyone should have an alternate hobbie in his life. Many people that I know have a second thing to love in their life.
Someone likes hanging out with his friends while the other loves watching movies. Some people like cooking while many other like music.

Some people love their alternatie habbit. Like one of my friends that loves music (his site is in persian and is about music, mostly about jazz genre) and music is an important part of his life.

Personally I havn’t found my alternative hobby yet. Maybe listeting to music, but this is something that everyone else in the world is doing. Maybe photography is my second hobby. I am not sure yet.

Have you ever thought about your alternative hobby?

Hectic days of the year

Norouz (Persian New Year) is coming and everyone has many things to do before start of the new year.
I am no exception and I am very busy with things that I really don’t like to do, but have no choice!

Spare time goes for our brand new and shiny “iranperl.com” (yes, thats the domain name for the new community). Website is not ready yet, but mailing lists are up and running and I will post subscription information very soon.

And another thing that I was working on it for past couple of days was stunnel which is a neat piece of software. I used it for different applications including securing mail transfer traffic as well as general TCP tunnels for secure communications. (There is a windows version available for windows lovers)
